The NAMCOB Seabird Rangers, together with officials from the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism Namibia visited several schools within Luderitz to engage and educate learners about the importance of marine and seabird conservation. Through dynamic presentation and video, we raised awareness about forming environmental clubs and protecting our environment. The overall feedback was positive as several schools were eager to jumpstart their own clubs.

The First Responder Workshop held on August 21-22, 2024, was a notable success, marking a significant step forward for the burgeoning First Responder Network. The workshop brought together experts and practitioners to delve into crucial aspects of wildlife response, and it covered a broad array of topics essential for effective first response in the field.

The EU Ambassador to Namibia HE Ana Beatriz visited NAMCOB in Lüderitz to discuss potential collaborations with the EU biodiversity programs. During the visit, the NAMCOB team shared the organistation's seabird conservation efforts and discussed the NIMPA plus project, which focuses on enhancing the management of the Namibian Island's Marine Protected Area (NIMPA). The ambassador also toured our seabird rehabilitation center located at the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources office in Lüderitz.
